Constructive Conflict

Constructive conflict baner

Program Flow:

  • Two 3-hour classes followed by 2 individual coaching sessions per person.
  • Typical class times are either 9am-noon or 1pm-4pm.
  • It is ideal to schedule Class #2 for 2-3 weeks after Class #1.
  • Minimum class size is 8 people.

In this course..

Participants will use the Conflict Dynamics Profile assessment to get more familiar with their own patterns and tendencies in conflict situations. Through experiential activities that have participants engaging with one another, we will experience (not just talk about) constructive approaches to handling conflict. Specifically, we will:

  • Complete the Conflict Dynamics Profile (online prior to the first class). Receive an individual profile report and workbook at the first class. You can view sample pages from the report by clicking here.
  • Understand constructive vs. destructive reactions to conflict. Learn to leveraging the constructive and minimize the destructive.
  • Identify our individual “hot buttons” or triggers.
  • Raise awareness around our “knee-jerk” reactions to being triggered and learn strategies for self-management.
  • Learn communication and listening skills to guide us through uncomfortable situations:
    • Discover how to respond to intense emotions, accusations, and passive-aggressive behaviors.
    • Refine our ability to deliver messages for greater acceptance.
    • Learn the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 listening.
    • Build accountability steps into conflict resolution conversations.

We believe very much in the importance of supporting individual areas of development by providing 1-on-1 coaching sessions post-training classes. This package includes two individual coaching sessions. Additional sessions can be scheduled as needed (additional costs apply).
